Garza v. Sullivan
July, 2006
A
Palm springs family was awarded $9M for the death and injuries
suffered at the hands of a drunk driver. (headline)
Josh Sullivan was found to have had more than four times the
legal limit of alcohol in his system when he plowed into the
rear-end of a small pick-up truck driven by Mr. Calvin Hall.
Three young men who were passengers in the truck were seriously
injured and Raymond Garza, at the age of 14, was decapitated.
Josh Sullivan began his drinking binge at a putting contest
where he served as an assitant golf pro until midnight when
he drove off despite efforts by many to take his keys away.
This $9M judgment against Sullivan personally is in addition
to $3.1M paid by Sullivan's employer.
