Los Angeles Super Lawyer Garo Mardirossian established his
prominent plaintiffs tort litigation practice from the ground
up 24 years ago. The firm, Mardirossian & Associates, specializes
in product liability, civil rights/police brutality, and negligence
cases. Together with fellow Super Lawyers Charles O'Reilly and
Joseph Barrett, the firm prides itself on holding auto and other
product manufacturers, insurance companies and governmental
entities accountable to the seriously injured.
Mardirossian's tenacity, expertise and trial advocacy skills
have consistently won him a number of high-profile cases. In
Dole v. County of Los Angeles, he achieved the largest civil
rights verdict ever -- over $24.8 million -- awarded to Samoan-American
plaintiffs, who suffered from police brutality at a bridal shower.
In Gozukara vs. Ford Motor Company, Mardirossian, O'Reilly
and Barrett successfully secured the first jury verdict against
Ford Motor Company for the defective design of its Explorer
SUV, resulting in a recovery of $14.9 million. As a result of
this victory and many other SUV product liability cases he is
vigorously prosecuting, Mardirossian says, "I would like
to see a SUV graveyard set up to dispose of these defective,
dangerous vehicles. Manufacturers were successful in waging
a campaign to remove consumers from their station wagons and
into SUVs without disclosing the tremendous risks."
WHEN WE EXPOSE A DEFECT IN A PRODUCT THAT CAUSED SERIOUS
INJURY TO A CONSUMER, JURIES RESPOND. WE TRUST THE JURY SYSTEM.
Since 1981, Mardirossian's extensive trial experience and winning
record have made him a sought-after attorney. Today, his reputation
precedes him, which gives his firm greater leverage in settlement
negotiations. His hard work has earned him a number of awards,
including Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA)
Trial Lawyer of the Year for 2000. He is also committed to CAALA's
mission of promoting consumer protection laws. Mardirossian
remains active in the organization and is slated to be its President
in 2010.
O'Reilly was recently inducted into the Trial Lawyer Hall of
Fame and has twice been honored by CAALA as Trial Lawyer of
the Year. Additionally, O'Reilly and Barrett serve on the CAALA
board.
Mardirossian adds that he surrounds himself with a great staff
that work together to employ their well-honed trial skills,
effective demonstrative evidence, and extensive knowledge of
the law to help each client.
