Garo
Mardirossian
After graduating from U.C.L.A. with a Bachelor of Arts
in Economics, Mr. Mardirossian attended Whittier College
School of Law where he excelled in his legal studies.
He received his Juris Doctorate degree from Whittier
in 1981 and founded the Law Offices of Garo Mardirossian
that year. He started out by handling a variety of cases,
and gradually through the years took on the more challenging
and complex matters.
One of Garo's greatest victories was a 1995 civil rights
suit against the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department
on behalf of a family of Samoans who were brutally beaten
by Sheriff's deputies. The initial phase of the case
began with a four-week preliminary hearing and six-week
criminal trial against the Samoans in 1991, where the
Sheriff's alleged the Samoans beat them. The Samoans
were found not guilty. Then there was a lengthy seven
and a half month civil jury trial against the County,
which culminated into the largest civil rights verdict
in L.A. County history. In 1998, $24,850,000 was paid
out to 36 plaintiffs.
Mr. Mardirossian's extensive trial experience and winning
record of more than two dozen multi-million dollar verdicts
and settlements has made him a sought-after trial lawyer.
His reputation precedes him and allows him great leverage
when negotiating settlements. He is a frequent lecturer
at legal seminars on topics from premises liability
to defective products.
